Romans 14:1-6
HONOURING AND GIVING THANKS TO GOD
…He who eats meat eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. Romans 14:6, NIV
God's Spirit, through Apostle Paul, gave us the best approach to handling disputable matters in the body of Christ today. The first approach is to thank and appreciate God for the privilege we have to know Him as much as we do.
He also wants us to honour Him in the lives of other Christians by accepting them as they are as we make efforts to help them become better Christians. Again, Apostle Paul warned the Roman Christians, as God is warning you and I today, to desist from "passing judgment on disputable matters" (v. 1), but to accommodate other Christians whose faith in Christ may not be as strong as ours.
Friend, do not condemn any more, but like Jesus did; teach, rebuke, correct and train others in righteousness (John 8:1-11; 2 Timothy 3:16). Stop castigating other Christians on disputable matters because you may not necessarily have superior spiritual knowledge and understanding on the matter.
Always remember that, "the man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him" (Romans 14:3).
